Review by daten: I am new to Magento and was surprised on the limitations on automation. Sebastian helped us with exporting necessary data to process credit cards using our own PCI compliant system. We are hosting our site externally and PCI compliance was a big concern. Working together with XTENTO and a different extension we used our internal company encryption logic during export with PHP. When importing XML orders into our system we decrypt in C# .net. Without Sebastian’s help Magento would not meet our backorder or pre-order requirements. Don’t waste your time looking at any other extension I spent months with comparing and pricing. No other company can do what XTENTO promised and delivered.

I purchased tracking import and looking to purchase inventory import.

Review by sterling: I just left a reply to another comment below and mentioned how easy it was to modify code to export data via SFTP and SOAP.

I'd also like to add my own review here about Xtento's support. I've been building eCommerce sites since 1997 and Sebastian's support is among the best I've ever received. He even helped me troubleshoot a problem caused by another plugin that was poorly coded and interfering with the export module.

The module is a great value for it's price. I wish it had a few more features like being able to store multiple XSL configs and selecting one from dropdown on export page. Also some kind of versioning of configs to make rollbacks possible. But these are just my wishlist, and the plugin works great as is.

Review by sterling: Wow, I think this reviewer is mistaking this plugin for some other plugin.

The code is open with no encryption so I was able to easily alter it to add SFTP support via phpseclib.

It worked so well I purchased a second license for a different client and was able to modify code to export data via SOAP calls using curl.

I advise anyone interested in this plugin to ignore the above negative review as it is completely false.

So just a list with the customer name , address and sku's in a single line (single line for each order) is this possible?

That's definitely possible! The XSL Template technique allows any text based (CSV/XML/Tabbed/...) output format - having all SKUs of an order in the same line is possible as well. Please send us an email to info@xtento.com.

I use the HTTP post ability to send my order data to Zoho Reports nightly. now that I have my order data there, I can quickly make reports on the fly - don't need the inadequate 'Reports' section of Magento. Couldn't have done it without Sebastian's help. thanks.

I purchased this extension to integrate with a shipping/fulfilment company's automated system. There were some setup issues due to the sketchy/incomplete/incorrect(!) information the fulfilment company supplied, but Sebastian worked through the problems with great patience and good humour until everything was set up correctly and working as intended.

I would be more than happy to thoroughly recommend both Xtento extensions and Sebastian's services to anyone.

After 11 months of use we had a small problem so we contacted Sebastian and he supplied us with a fix very quickly.

As you know, I got a little misinformation when I started this Magento project, as I was told at a convention that Magento could export orders. What I didn’t realize was that I had to be a professional developer and code writer to accomplish that end. I was ready to quit Magento, after all that work with 400+ categories and 16,000 products. You saved me with your Order Export Module. I also really appreciate your patience in working with my POS people. It runs great and I’m back on schedule to take on our busy season, which is just around the corner. I would recommend your module to anyone. Great Work!

Review by Fergus: I looked at a number of different methods of exporting order data and found this early on. I tried out a couple of other methods (adding orders to Import/Export procedure) and other inferior but cheaper/free extensions.

This is by far the best in terms of functionality and appears to have the ability to do so much more than our current needs which makes me think it will be very valuable in the future.

Also - the level of support from the developer is second to none.

My only suggestion for improvement would be a more novice-friendly admin interface for setting up the export profiles. Perhaps a checkbox system for what fields to export. I appreciate the XML template system is great for those with the know-how and it should definitely stay there, but another easier method might also be useful for some people.

All round fantastic purchase.

What I need to do is be able to export a csv file with all the shipping information of customers that order a certain product. This is something I will be doing daily. I need to be able to export to a csv so our drop shipper or partner that we are working with can import the data into their shipping program.

Is this something I would be able to do with your extension?

1) If IBM AS400 supports either XML or CSV import formats, we will be able to create a matching XSL Template that creates this output format.

2) Yes, the cronjob can be configured to export the orders automatically

3) No, there is no function to import orders back into Magento. We have developed a new (separate) module that is able to the order status and the tracking numbers, but importing complete orders is not possible unfortunately.

Review by Paulus: Is it possible to change the status for the orders as well when the export is finished? What we have now is thie following and if this can do that too, that'd be golden:
1. gather paid orders, lookup paid orders on bank accounts
2. Export invoices (pdf)
3. Export XML/CSV for shipping company
4. Auto-change status to 'sent' (plus mail client when possible) when orders are done.

Step 2,3 and 4 are done by one module we use now on osc, will this module be able to do so as well? We need to be sure before paying 200 euro for it, asking here might help others, as opposed to mailing support/sales ;-).

Review by Wouter (@MidoMedia): We've been using this extension for months on a production environment (since before it was on Magento Connect) and without it we wouldn't have migrated our previous platform (X-Cart) to Magento. We're very satisfied with it, even exporting thousands of orders is no problem.

Paying for something is never fun, but for us this was a small price for a feature we couldn't live without.
